HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY AND PROCEDURES

It is the policy of the BIC to promote the health, safety and welfare of all of its staff, students, visitors, contractors or members of the public who could be affected by the Department’s activities.

BIC is based in Wigham House which has its own health and safety policy and procedures. These are displayed prominently at various places throughout the building. All new staff and students are made aware of this.

The college has its own information and directions displayed prominently in case of fire or other emergency. All students and staffs are made aware of this during the induction.

Mr Abhijit Shinde and Mr. Sayed Abdul Wasey, is the person to contact in case of any emergency.

BIC expects all employees to take reasonable care of their health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work. It is also a legal requirement under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Hazards that might pose a risk to the health and safety of anyone in the college should be reported to the Admin or a senior member of BIC team. Safety Inspections are carried out by competent persons of Wigham House regularly. First Aid is provided by Mr. Shinde and Mr.Wassey. A first aid kit is also available in the college. BIC operates a general no smoking policy.

Fire Drill: 

During the induction week, all the students will be explained about the fire procedures. A fire drill rehearsal will be conducted by Mr.Shinde/Mr.Wassey the fire Marshal of the college during the induction week. Wigham house conducts the fire drills regular intervals for the entire building. Fire Alarm is checked in Wigham house on every Wednesdays at 10 AM.
